Ruling Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir, who had announced the construction of the Babri Masjid in Bengal's Murshidabad district, has sparked a major political controversy with his inflammatory statement.According to a video released by the state BJP on Friday, Kabir, MLA from Bharatpur in Murshidabad, has warned that anyone who tries to stop them from building the Babri Masjid will have to face serious consequences.It should be noted that Humayun Kabir recently announced that he would lay the foundation stone for the Babri Masjid in Murshidabad on December 6. According to a video circulating on the internet, Kabir cited population figures in Bengal, saying, "We currently represent 37 percent of the population here, and we will reach 40 percent by the time the Babri Masjid is built.”He warned, "Anyone who tries to stop us should remember we will be martyred. If 100 of us are martyred, we will martyr 500 of theirs ." Referring to Murshidabad, which borders Bangladesh, he said that the district is 70 percent Muslim.
